Irish airline
Aer Lingus has announced that it is to launch new flights from
Belfast to
Paris later this year.
The daily service will begin on March 30th and will fly to Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport. As a result of the new flights, however, the carrier's route between Belfast and
Amsterdam will see its flight frequency lowered to one flight a day instead of two.
Aer Lingus started flying from its new Belfast base last year, beginning with flights to destinations such as
Barcelona and
Geneva.
New routes to
Rome,
Budapest,
Malaga,
Faro and
Nice will be launched by the airline over the next few months.
"Our market research has shown strong demand for Paris Charles de Gaulle, while Northern Ireland is increasingly popular with French visitors," commented Dermot Mannion, chief executive of
Aer Lingus.
The carrier also operates flights between various points in the UK and Irish destinations such as
Dublin and
Cork.
