Holidaymakers heading to
Australia this spring might want to pencil the dates of the Greek Festival of Sydney into their diaries.
The event, one of the biggest and longest-running cultural events in the country, celebrates all things Greek from March 29th to the end of May through a host of performances, markets, exhibitions and more.
On March 29th and 30th, visitors to
Sydney can help to kick off the proceedings with a special event at Darling Harbour. After this, the festivities continue via a series of events across the city, including a variety of concerts, art shows, food tours and lectures.
Highlights of last year's festival included the opening Harmony Day Concert, featuring performances by members of the Greek-Australian community, an exhibition examining the history of weddings and a concert of Cretan music.
You could also explore the city's Greek Quarter for yourself, as well as take the time to view other
Sydney attractions such as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Taronga Park Zoo.
For more information, take a look at the
Greek Festival of Sydney website.
