Incheon International Airport in
Seoul has topped a list of the
best worldwide hubs as measured by quality of service.
Compiled by Airports Council International (ACI), the list also has
Kuala Lumpur International Airport in second place and Changi Airport in
Singapore in third.
On a regional basis,
Oporto Airport in
Portugal was ranked the best in
Europe, while
Dallas Fort Worth Airport won the North American prize and
Johannesburg Airport received the African award.
In the UK,
Southampton Airport received one of the ACI's "airport people" awards, which recognise excellent customer service.
"At Incheon, the management team takes pride in delivering quality airport service and sees it as being part of the overall tourism value chain - good for their airport and their nation," commented ACI programme director Craig Bradbrook.
Incheon International Airport is the main base for
Korean Air and
Asiana Airlines, both of which operate
flights to Seoul from the UK.
