Holidaymakers heading to
Paris this summer should not miss the opportunity to see the city's spectacular Gay Pride Parade.
Taking place at the end of June every year, this colourful event sees more than 500,000 people crowd the streets of
Paris to witness a parade consisting of participants dressed in eye-catching costumes doing their best to make their floats the most exciting.
Music and dancing will be prevalent throughout the day as Parisians take to the streets to protest against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender discrimination.
If you fancy exploring the gay cultural scene and
nightlife in
Paris, you could visit the numerous shops, bars and restaurants on the Right Bank, around Chatelet and Hotel de Ville, and in the Marais district.
A host of gay-themed exhibitions and other events also take place year-round in the French capital.
For more information, take a look at the
Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau website.
