Fly to Copenhagen for a grand carnival
Fancy seeing the biggest carnival in northern Europe? Why not head to Copenhagen and take a connecting flight to Aalborg for the city's annual jamboree?
The Aalborg Carnival sees some 25,000 people take part in its Grand Parade, while more than 100,000 spectators crowd the streets to witness this colourful spectacle.
Taking place between May 17th and 23rd 2009, the carnival will this year adopt the theme of The Sweet Life. Mini-events taking place during this period include special carnivals for children and teenagers, as well as a host of comedy and music performances, including, among others, London band 'Mahogany'.
Some of the highlights of the event include the Battle of Carnival Bands and the closing party and fireworks display in Kildeparken.
As well as being linked to London via direct flights, Aalborg is easily accessible from other UK locations via a connecting flight from Copenhagen, so why not take the opportunity to visit the beautiful Danish capital on your way to or from the carnival?
Check out the Aalborg Carnival website for more information.
