German airline
Lufthansa has announced the official launch of its dedicated personal assistant service at
Heathrow Airport.
The scheme had been trialled at the hub for three months before the full launch this week and enables passengers flying
first class with the airline to go through airport procedures with their own personal assistant.
This assistant greets the flyer at check-in and escorts them through security control while also skipping the queue to head straight for the Lufthansa
lounge.
Meanwhile, inbound passengers can also benefit from the service, with the personal assistant meeting the traveller at the plane door and escorting them through passport and customs checks.
"Lufthansa's new personal assistant service offers a new and exclusive benefit for our best and most loyal customers flying out of London, further strengthening our leading position in the premium segment," commented Marianne Sammann, UK and Ireland general manager for
Lufthansa.
The move represents another step towards a more personalised service for first class passengers at Heathrow Airport - the Upper Class Wing at the hub can be used by first class
Virgin Atlantic flyers looking for a speedy and private way of bypassing queues.
