Belgian airline
VLM has won an
award for its route between
London City Airport and
Amsterdam.
The carrier received the 2007 Passenger Airline Award from Schipol Airport in
Amsterdam in recognition of its success with the flights, which have more than tripled in number since they were first launched in April 2005.
Flyer numbers on the route have also grown significantly - more than 150,000 travellers booked a flight between the two points last year, up 44 per cent compared with 2006.
"Our dedication for a fast and hassle-free travel experience and our Belgian hospitality is something that is greatly appreciated by the business travellers who fly with us regularly and we are delighted to have seen our market share increase year on year since we started this route," commented Johan Vanneste, managing director of VLM.
VLM also offers a number of
flights to Luxembourg from the UK. It serves a total of nine European destinations from London City Airport.
