Planning a
family holiday is one of the most stressful tasks for today's mothers, it has been claimed.
Research by holiday-rentals.co.uk has shown that six in ten British mothers find organising a break to be a worrying experience, placing the event behind moving house and Christmas preparations in terms of stressfulness.
Nearly a third of those surveyed said they found the actual journeys to be particularly stressful, as well as ensuring that the family has packed correctly and that all passports and other paperwork are sufficiently organised.
However, Greg Grant of holiday-rentals.co.uk suggested that mothers could ease the strain by booking into a holiday home instead of a
hotel.
"Renting a holiday home provides families [with] more space, privacy, comprehensive facilities and the flexibility to take time out for themselves," he commented.
"Unlike hotel rooms, holiday homes give kids space to breathe and parents freedom to relax in another room, but everyone is still under the same roof."
According to the Times, families looking to take an adventurous holiday might want to check out destinations such as
India,
Slovenia or
Africa.
