Finnair to add spa to Helsinki lounge

Finnair to add spa to Helsinki lounge
Holidaymakers flying to Helsinki with Finnair will be able to take advantage of new spa facilities at its airport lounge from next year.

The airline will open the Spa and Wellness Centre at its lounge in the terminal extension at Helsinki Airport in autumn 2009, with the facility being aimed at those changing flights at the hub.

Services offered by the centre will include mineral and cold water baths, a sauna with a runway view and a variety of different wellness treatments.

The new via.Helsinki Lounge will offer a snack bar, restaurant-style food service and computer workstations for those travelling on business.

Paavo Virkkunen of Finnair commented: "The new via.Helsinki Lounge and Spa and Wellness Centre are specifically designed to serve our customers who change Finnair flights at Helsinki Airport.

"We want to offer this continuously increasing passenger segment unique, luxurious and refreshing lounge and spa services."

Finnair took delivery of its 200th aircraft, an Embraer 190, over the weekend. The airline celebrates its 85th anniversary this year.
