British Airways has said it will operate a full schedule of flights from
Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5from tomorrow.
According to the airline, it expected to run 364 out of 390 flights from
Terminal 5 today, with full functionality reached by - and sustained from - the weekend.
In a statement on the airline's website,
British Airways said it was "extremely sorry" for the disruption that affected passengers since the opening on Thursday March 27th.
"We accept the level of service we have provided has not been good enough. We are working hard to overcome the initial operational difficulties we have encountered," the statement says.
Today longhaul flights will operate as planned, according to the airline, with European and domestic flights accounting for the 26 flights affected.
Terminals 1 and 4 at
Heathrow Airport will continue to operate normally.
On Sunday,
British Airways chief executive Willie Walsh said that the airline remains "confident" that the "early difficulties" can be overcome.
