Holidaymakers thinking of visiting
Ireland this summer may want to travel to
Cork and check out one of the city's most colourful events.
The Cork Midsummer Festival will take place between June 15th and July 5th and sees a variety of traditional and not so traditional venues across the city host a wide range of events.
Attendees can expect to see numerous theatre, dance, music, visual arts and circus performances in locations as diverse as construction cranes, naval bases, nightclubs, residential houses, parks, cathedrals and factories.
Plenty of the events will be free of charge and visitors to Cork will be able to see performers from countries around the globe, making this something of a cosmopolitan festival.
Travellers could also use the city of
Cork as a base from which to explore the rest of the region, including scenic villages such as Blarney and Castletownshend, as well as the market town of Fermoy and medieval Youghal.
Check out the
Cork Midsummer Festival website for further information.
