Many families still plan to go away this summer despite the ongoing credit crisis, according to a new poll.
Carried out by parenting website mychild.co.uk, the survey showed that 95 per cent of respondents believe it is likely they will jet off on a
family holiday this year.
More than half - about six in ten - of parents said they intend to go abroad for the summer break, with
Spain,
France, the
USA and
Greece proving to be particularly popular destinations.
"Overall, the results of the survey tie in with research conducted by Mintel two years ago, which showed that families are increasingly seeing the family holiday break as a necessity rather than a luxury," commented Denise Roberts, resource manager at mychild.co.uk.
Last year, a survey by Luxury Travel magazine found that activity and adventure holidays were becoming increasingly popular among families.
