Holidaymakers looking to minimise their spending while away might want to make use of a pre-paid currency card.
According to new research from FairFX.com, 57 per cent of Brits intend to cut holiday spending this year.
However, travellers could ease their holiday finances by using a currency card instead of buying foreign cash at the airport, the website suggested.
Such cards enable Britons to purchase currency when the exchange rate is at its best and store it for future use.
"Savvy travellers should consider the benefits of using a currency card to ride out the volatility in the market and lock in great exchange rate deals," commented Stephen Heath, chief executive of FairFX.com.
Recent research by the Post Office has suggested that travellers could benefit by holidaying outside of the eurozone to take advantage of the strong pound in destinations such as
Thailand,
South Africa and
Egypt.
