Britons looking to save cash this summer might want to take their annual break in
Poland.
According to German motor club ADAC, the Eastern European country is best for those looking to cut holiday costs, Spiegel Online reports.
Greece,
Portugal,
Spain,
Turkey and
Germany followed Poland in the rankings, which were compiled by comparing the cost of 48 holiday items, such as sun lotion, ice cream and swimming costumes.
The cheapest destination in Poland itself was found to be Ustka, a popular port and beach town located in the north-west of the country that has a population of just over 17,000 residents and is accessible via
Gdansk.
Ustka tourism official Janusz Kryszkiewicz told Spiegel Online: "We've got lots of restaurants and pubs, some pretty nice places to stay and a big beach ... I guess you could say we're a pretty good place for foreign visitors."
