Lovers of hit TV show Sex and City will be eagerly awaiting the premiere of the movie version in
London tonight (May 12th).
But as every fan knows,
New York is the only city for Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha to be seen in. And while holidaymakers are unlikely to bump into the girls on a trip to the Big Apple, they can create their own Sex and the City experience in a number of ways, according to the Times.
Those looking for a
romantic trip that Charlotte might approve of could stroll through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, take an evening walk along Brooklyn Heights Promenade and have a candlelit meal at Allen & Delancey, the newspaper states.
Meanwhile, travellers looking to emulate Carrie's frequent shopping trips and unique style might want to head to the boutiques in the Nolita district and pick up a designer bargain or two on East 81st Street.
Culture vultures could follow in the footsteps of Miranda and visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new Greek and Roman galleries, the Guggenheim Museum and the New York Philharmonic.
Elsewhere,
party lovers like Samantha should check out the Lower East Side and spot a celebrity or two and sink into bed after a night out at the Royalton or QT hotels.
The Sex and the City movie is released nationwide on May 28th.
