Holidaymakers heading to
Amsterdam next month should check out the city's innovative Open Garden Days festival.
The event takes place between June 20th and 23rd and sees about 30 spectacular semi-private gardens open their gates to the public.
This year's festival takes on the theme of Art in the Canal House Garden, offering three centuries of art for public view over all four days in both the gardens and local museums.
Pieces range from a statue dating back to the 18th century by Jan van Logteren at the Museum Willet-Holthuysen to Apocalyps, another statue by Martie van der Loo at the Biblical Museum.
Pass holders will be able to travel to each garden via boat, making this summer event even more pleasant.
Visitors to
Amsterdam could also check out the ITs Festival, which sees a host of theatre productions take place on ten stages across the city between June 19th and 28th.
For more information, check out the
Amsterdam Tourist & Convention Board website.
