Virgin Upper Class Wing 'a hit with flyers'

Virgin Upper Class Wing 'a hit with flyers'
The new facilities for Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class passengers at Heathrow Airport have proved popular with flyers, according to the airline.

Virgin Atlantic has revealed that the Upper Class Wing at Terminal 3 has boosted new passenger numbers since it opened last December.

More than 83 per cent of flyers polled by the carrier said they have had an excellent or good experience at Terminal 3, with business class passengers taking an average of eight minutes to travel from their limos to the Clubhouse lounge.

"The success of the Upper Class Wing has meant some passengers have transferred from their limos to the Clubhouse in four to five minutes, which must be a record for any airport worldwide," Steve Ridgway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, remarked.

Virgin Atlantic recently announced that it is to increase the availability of its on-the-ground beauty therapy treatments at the Heathrow Clubhouse by 70 per cent, scrapping its inflight beauty services in the process.
