Tourists should take the opportunity to head to
Kenya and experience its various attractions, according to Virgin Atlantic president Sir Richard Branson.
Speaking in Nairobi today (May 19th), Sir Richard called on travellers to take advantage of the region's period of peace following post-election troubles in certain areas earlier this year.
Virgin Atlantic operates a daily
flight to Nairobi from
Heathrow Airport and is launching a new campaign to get more people to visit Kenya in time for the annual migration of wildebeest, a spectacular sight that attracts tourists from around the world.
"Tourism in Kenya is the number one industry for the nation and visiting now will make a huge difference to the locals who rely on the industry for their living," Sir Richard commented.
Other attractions in Kenya include its north and south coast beaches, hilly areas such as the Western Highlands and Mount Kenya, and Lake Victoria, which is the source of the Nile.
