Holidaymakers looking to save money are increasingly looking to destinations on the edge of the eurozone, according to one expert.
Destinations such as
Morocco and
Turkey are proving to be particularly attractive to travellers on a tight budget due to the growing strength of the euro against the pound, Derek Moore, chairman of the Association of Independent Tour Operators, remarked.
He added the strengthening euro may cause some travellers to exercise caution when booking ahead for the
winter or next year.
"However, as is always the case with fluctuating currencies, anything can happen in the interim," he cautioned.
A recent report from the Post Office suggested that while the pound is currently losing out against the euro, sterling is gaining ground in destinations such as
Jamaica,
Hong Kong and the
United Arab Emirates - potentially offering the perfect holiday locations for those looking to save money.
