Heathrow Airport's
Terminal 5 is operating much more smoothly now than it was after it opened, it has been claimed.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Andrew Cosslett of InterContinental Hotels Group said that the situation appears to be "improving" after baggage problems prompted delays and cancellations earlier this year.
He noted that ten million of his company's guests travel through Heathrow at some point, making the previous issues at Terminal 5 something of a worry for many.
"Around the world it has been an area of concern over dinner tables and board meetings as people think about Britain as a place to visit and come to do business," Mr Cosslett remarked.
However, he explained that there are now definite "signs of improvement" in the terminal's operations.
Yesterday (June 5th),
British Airways successfully moved some of its long-haul flights from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5, with further moves to be made on September 17th and at the end of October.
