Virgin Atlantic has announced it is increasing its flights from
Heathrow Airport to
Hong Kong from one to two services a day.
The airline said that the new flights would provide better connections for those wishing to travel to other destinations in
China and the Far East, as well as to those looking to break up a trip to
Sydney into several legs.
Virgin stated that the new flight will operate three times a week from October 28th, going daily from December 4th. Flights will depart Heathrow at 16:00 GMT, with the return service taking off from
Hong Kong at 14:15 local time.
"East is the new west and this second daily service will offer our passengers even more opportunities via Hong Kong, which is the third busiest long-haul route out of Heathrow after New York's JFK and Dubai," remarked Steve Ridgway, chief executive of the airline.
Virgin recently implemented plans to levy a lower fuel surcharge for economy passengers than for its premium customers in the wake of rising fuel costs.
