Silverjet could resume operations in the near future thanks to new talks over a possible takeover.
The airline said in a statement this week that it is in negotiations with a Swiss investment firm over a possible sale of the company, which would lead to its
business class flights to New York and
Dubai restarting at a future date.
Silverjet was forced to suspend its flights last month after running into financial difficulties.
"We will be working around the clock to launch our New York and Dubai services as quickly as possible and we will make an announcement about the date for re-launching our services in due course," commented Lawrence Hunt, chief executive of Silverjet.
Kingplace, the company interested in taking over Silverjet, confirmed in a statement that it would honour existing bookings with the airline should the talks prove successful.
Passengers who held forward bookings with the airline before it stopped operating on May 30th are advised to contact their travel agent or credit card company if they want a refund.
