Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that it is to launch new
flights to Islamabad from
Leeds-Bradford Airport next month.
The twice-weekly service will take off on Wednesdays and Saturdays from July 2nd at "convenient" times, it was revealed.
Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation development director at Leeds-Bradford Airport, said that the acquisition of the flights was a "major achievement" for the hub.
"PIA's [new service] meets the demand of our customers in the Bradford and wider Yorkshire region, as well as the airline's customers in Islamabad, Pakistan," added PIA managing director Captain Mohammad Aijaz Haroon.
Some of the most popular attractions in
Islamabad include the National Monument, the Heritage Museum, the Shah Faisal Mosque and the Shakar Parian Hills, among others.
Its most well-known historic sites include the Margallah Pass, Wah Gardens, the town of Hasan Abdal and the remains of the Buddhist Mankiala Stupa.
