Newcastle-Dublin flights to be restored
Aer Lingus has announced that it is reintroduce flights from Newcastle Airport to Dublin.
The carrier will begin the service on October 26th and offer five weekly flights during the winter season.
Chris Sanders, head of airline relations at the north-east airport, said he was "delighted" that Aer Lingus will be reintroducing its service from Newcastle to Dublin.
Enda Corneille of Aer Lingus echoed this sentiment, saying: "We are delighted to recommence direct flights between Newcastle and Dublin, offering customers from the north-east a gateway to Ireland and Irish customers greater access to the north-east of England.
"The Newcastle service has proven very popular with football fans, business travellers and leisure customers alike and offers real growth opportunities in both inbound and outbound tourism links."
Dublin offers a number of sights and attractions for tourists, including the Guinness storehouse, Trinity College, the trendy Temple Bar area and Dublin Castle.
