First ever moving skyscraper to be built in Dubai

The striking skyline of Dubai will boast yet another groundbreaking element in two years' time – the world's first moving skyscraper.

Dynamic Architecture has announced that it will build one Dynamic Tower in Dubai, which is set to open in 2010, and another in Moscow.

The Dubai building will be 1,380 feet tall and will comprise 80 floors. These floors will all be able to move independently, meaning that the tower can constantly change its shape and appearance.

Dr David Fisher, the architect behind the innovative skyscraper, revealed that there are plans to construct a third tower in New York.

He added: "Additional Dynamic Towers will be built around the world, following an expression of interest from developers, governments and public officials to construct a Dynamic Tower in Canada, Germany, Italy, Korea and Switzerland."

Another unique aspect of the Dynamic Tower will be its eco-friendliness. A wind turbine will be installed between each floor of the tower, meaning that it is entirely self-powered.

Dubai is renowned as one of the world's pioneering and groundbreaking destinations. Plans were recently unveiled for a brand new city to be built in the desert of Dubai, which will boast a range of new tourist landmarks and civic buildings.
