United Airlines has opened a new lounge, called the Red Carpet Club, at
Chicago O'Hare Airport.
The facility, which is the first new Red Carpet Club to open since 2000, will be available to summer travellers and is designed to offer a comfortable environment for both work and relaxation.
Nearly every seat in the lounge includes access to power outlets as well as "creatively designed" workstations. Food and beverage options include two serving areas, a bar and two self-service drink stations.
Graham Atkinson, executive vice-president of United Airlines, said: "Our guests tell us they want to be comfortable and productive when travelling, and United's new Red Carpet Club at O'Hare offers both – more personal space and additional work areas with complimentary Wi-Fi service.
"Whether our guests want to relax or finish a presentation, the Red Carpet Club will now give them more ways to get the most out of their travel experience."
All international first- and
business-class passengers will be able to access the lounge, as will other travellers at a cost of $50 (£25).
United Airlines flights to
Chicago are available from
Stansted Airport,
Edinburgh Airport and
Birmigham Airport, among others.
