Bmi is planning to make more flights available between
Heathrow Airport and
Saudi Arabia, according to reports.
The carrier is expected to launch additional connections between Heathrow and
Jeddah,
Riyadh and
Dammam, TravelMole reports.
These new services have been made possible by a bilateral agreement between the UK and Saudi Arabia which increased the number of permitted weekly flights to 35.
Nigel Turner, chief executive of bmi, said an announcement on the new flights will be made shortly and congratulated the UK and Saudi Arabian governments on their agreement.
He added: "We have committed significant investment in developing our sales and marketing and operational presence in Saudi Arabia and the ability to increase our services presents us with an ideal opportunity.
"Our route network to the region was further enhanced last October when we commenced services from Heathrow to a wide range of destinations throughout the Middle East and beyond."
Other Middle East destinations available with bmi include
Tel Aviv,
Amman and
Abu Dhabi.
