Qantas has announced plans to open new
business class lounges in some of its key Australian terminals.
New facilities will be unveiled in
Sydney and
Melbourne this month, followed by
Canberra in October and
Perth in 2010.
Qantas has already opened its business class lounge in
Brisbane, which was unveiled on June 30th.
The lounge facilities - including quiet work areas, free wireless internet access and private shower suites - will be open to the airline's business class customers and members of the Qantas and oneworld frequent flyer schemes.
John Borghetti, the airline's executive general manager, said: "Our new lounges have been purpose-built to provide space, increased privacy and a range of
business services for our premium customers."
Qantas is currently carrying out a number of upgrades at its terminals in
Australia, including the installation of workstations providing PCs, power-charging outlets and wireless hotspots in
Melbourne,
Sydney,
Brisbane and
Perth.
