Aberdeen Airport begins forecourt project

Aberdeen Airport begins forecourt project
A £2 million project has been launched at Aberdeen Airport to transform the gateway's terminal forecourt.

The investment by airport operator BAA is set to lead to improved security measures and more convenient access for people flying to and from Aberdeen Airport.

New facilities will include a dedicated access lane for taxis and buses and a drop-off area for passengers.

Security changes will include the replacement of temporary concrete blocks on the forecourt with permanent bollards, while pedestrianisation measures will improve ease of access for the public.

Will Dougherty, customer services director at Aberdeen Airport, said: "I am confident that when this work is complete the forecourt will meet the needs of our passengers and represent a significant improvement on the existing arrangements, improving the end-to-end experience of key stakeholders and passengers alike."

Work on the project began today (July 7th) and is expected to last around 18 weeks.

People flying from Aberdeen Airport can access destinations including Toronto, Johannesburg and Dubai.
