Flybe celebrates 'top regional airline' status
Flybe has unveiled its 2008-09 winter schedule and announced a 7.5 million-seat sale to celebrate its position as the UK's number one regional airline.
The carrier claims that, with 1.81 million passengers between December 2007 and May this year, it outsold its nearest regional rival by nearly two to one.
Effective from October 26th, Flybe's winter schedule includes services to a range of destinations in the UK and Europe, including Edinburgh, Dusseldorf, Milan and Paris.
The opening of the airline's winter network will be accompanied by the launch of Flybe Connections, a new through-booking service that will enable passengers to arrange an itinerary of flights with one reservation.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said: "Flybe is now the biggest domestic airline outside of London by a country mile and in spite [of] the current economic climate we've had a busy and successful first half of 2008.
"With the launch of 'Flybe Connections', we're making it even easier for our UK regional air passengers to get their hands on great value through-flights."
Flybe services are available from regional gateways including Birmingham Airport, Southampton Airport and Aberdeen Airport.
