Dublin to stage international comedy festival

Dublin to stage international comedy festival
The city of Dublin will provide its visitors with plenty of entertainment this September as it hosts the Bulmers International Comedy Festival.

Now in its fifth year, this event has developed into one of the world's top comedy festivals, hosting top performers including Ricky Gervais, Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Lee Evans and Bill Bailey.

Holidaymakers in Dublin will be able to see this year's festival at various locations around the city between September 1st and 21st.

Arguably the highlight of the event will be the Irish debut of Chris Rock, who will perform two shows at the Olympia Theatre on September 4th.

Fans of the Police Academy movies may be interested in visiting the Tivoli Theatre between September 2nd and 4th to see Michael Winslow, better known as the cop who specialised in sound effects.

Other comedians set to appear at the Bulmers festival this year include Jimmy Carr, Paddy McGuinness, Rich Hall, Ricky Tomlinson and surreal double-act The Mighty Boosh.
