Justtheflight.co.uk launches mobile world first

Justtheflight.co.uk has launched a world first in the mobile travel field – a global flight search and booking facility for smartphones.

Justtheflight.co.uk/mobile is an online application that allows users of advanced mobile devices to find and reserve flights to global destinations with the world's leading airlines.

Users can make informed travel choices as a result of the facility's regular news updates, destination guides and travel features.

Brian Kelly, chief executive of the Online Regional Travel Group, said: "The launch is an exciting one for justtheflight.co.uk and the travel industry. The use of the mobile internet through smartphone devices is exploding. Currently 20 per cent of people have access to the internet via the mobile phone and this is set to grow.

"Mobile is the PC of the future; improved speed and falling costs for downloading data makes searching and booking flights a viable, quick and convenient option, breaking the tie with the office or home PC."

Ron Berry, head of inward investment for the Isle of Man, said that the new justtheflight.co.uk application places the island "at the forefront of innovation in the travel industry".

The mobile facility is currently presented in English and takes credit card bookings. There are plans to offer multi-currency and multi-lingual versions in the near future.
