Overseas travel from
Aberdeen Airport proved a popular option in June, with international traffic increasing by 1.3 per cent on the previous year.
Some 302,145 passengers used Aberdeen Airport in the sixth month of the year, bringing the total flow of traffic through the gateway so far this year to 1.6 million.
Amsterdam,
Stavanger and
Paris were the most popular destinations from the Scottish airport in June, while
Barcelona saw the strongest growth.
Airport managing director Kevin Brown said: "With the summer schedule well underway, I am very pleased to see an increasing number of passengers now choosing to fly from their local airport to some of Europe's most popular sunshine destinations."
Mr Brown also commented on the recent commencement of work on a £2 million forecourt redevelopment at Aberdeen Airport, which will provide enhanced security and ease of access for passengers.
BAA Scotland has invested some £100 million in route development over the past five years, meaning that Aberdeen Airport, along with
Glasgow Airport and
Edinburgh Airport, will offer flights to more than 140 destinations this summer.
