A new service has been launched at
Bristol Airport designed to move passengers through the security search area as swiftly as possible.
The 'fly thru' initiative will commence at the south-west gateway on August 5th and can be reserved at kiosks in the terminal or through advance online bookings at a cost of £5 per passenger.
It was introduced on the back of research which found that 60 per cent of
business class passengers would be interested in using a service designed to hasten their progress to the departure lounge.
The low cost of fly thru, however, is expected to make it appealing to economy as well as business travellers.
Alison Roberts, general manager of terminal operations at Bristol Airport, said: "Our customers told us that they wanted more time to relax in the departure lounge and less time spent in queues. We've listened and introduced improvements which have significantly reduced queues to the security search area.
"However, some passengers, particularly those travelling regularly on business, want to guarantee an even quicker journey through the airport, and that's why we have introduced the fly thru option."
Flights are available from Bristol Airport to
Berlin,
Nice,
Rome and
New York, among other destinations.
