Brits are the rudest and least attractive holidaymakers in Europe, a new poll has revealed.
Research by lastminute.com found that even people in the UK agree with this sentiment, with 78 per cent voting themselves as the least desirable sunbathers.
In a poll of European customers, just five per cent said that British men and women were the most attractive, while Italian men came out on top with 33 per cent of the vote.
When it comes to holiday clothes, around one in three
Spanish and
Germans believe the UK is the worst-dressed and 22 per cent of Brits agreed.
A third of Spanish respondents said that the British is the rudest nation, which may be a result of the fact that 61 per cent think they drink the most while abroad.
Commenting on the results, the firm's managing director John Bevan said: "Whether these findings are following a myth or a reality, the truth to the matter is that Britons do not allow this to get in the way of a good holiday and should feel as confident on the beach as their European counterparts."
However, a previous survey by lastminute.com found that in comparison with other nationalities, 21 per cent of
Americans believe they have the worst manners when travelling and the worst dress sense.
