Virgin Atlantic has announced that it has joined up with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) once again to host its own 'film festival in the sky'.
The airline has been showing nine short films made by graduates of the NFTS on its
inflight entertainment system since February this year.
Passengers have been voting on their favourite films and in September the top three shorts will be passed to a judging panel featuring some highly respected directors and producers.
These three student filmmakers will also have their work screened on Virgin Atlantic flights until the end of the year, meaning thousands of people will watch them.
NFTS director Nik Powell said: "We are proud of the quality of our films and it is exciting to have them showcased on Virgin Atlantic in this competition.
"Our filmmakers go on to work at the very top levels in the film and television industry and I am sure that the passengers will enjoy watching the films that have been made here at the NFTS."
Virgin Atlantic passengers have access to over 300 hours of video and audio on demand on its V:Port inflight entertainment system.
