London Luton Airport has invested in a multilingual passenger communication system that it describes as "state of the art".
The facility, called Aviavox, can make announcements in nine different languages and is linked to the airport's flight departure schedule.
Important information is broadcast in the language relevant to travelling passengers and varies in different areas of the airport.
The Aviavox system has reportedly been particularly useful in providing security messages that help speed up passengers' journeys through the airport.
Managing director Glyn Jones said: "Our customers are at the heart of everything we do.
"London Luton Airport continually assesses the needs of its passengers and business partners and aims to provide the best possible service to them. The introduction of this fantastic new system for our passengers demonstrates our commitment to this."
The airport hosts flights from airlines including
Aer Arann and
Flybe to destinations such as
Amsterdam,
Nice and
Edinburgh.
