Dubai Airports is currently preparing for a phased transition of operations to Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3 next month.
The new facility's 'soft' opening will get underway on October 14th in four phases, which are designed to ensure that all systems and processes are operating efficiently.
Terminal 3, which will be dedicated to the
Dubai-based airline
Emirates, has undergone a number of tests to check its readiness to handle passengers, including an operational trial involving over 2,000 volunteers in August.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, said that Terminal 3 represents a "much-needed expansion" of the emirate's aviation infrastructure.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, added: "Raising customer service standards at Dubai International is at the heart of our strategy.
"We want to make absolutely sure that all the systems and processes at Terminal 3 are working smoothly and that customers experience nothing short of world-class facilities and service when they use the new terminal."
Dubai International Airport's third terminal will raise the capacity of the
United Arab Emirates gateway to 60 million passengers a year.
