Edinburgh Airport has opened a number of new self-service check-in facilities for passengers flying with
Air France,
Flybe and
KLM.
Ten new kiosks have been installed by airport operator BAA in order to increase check-in capacity at Edinburgh Airport and speed up travellers' movement through the terminal.
Customers will present a passport barcode, credit card or transaction number at the machine to prove their identity before printing out their boarding pass.
The kiosks are currently available to Air France and KLM passengers and will begin serving Flybe customers later this month.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said he was "especially pleased" that passengers will be able to use the self-service kiosks, as the airline will be operating some 310 weekly flights from Edinburgh Airport during the winter season.
He added: "[The kiosks] undoubtedly save passengers valuable time at check-in, offering a much more streamlined customer experience that will prove especially popular with Flybe's connecting passengers."
So far this year, 27 new services have been launched from Edinburgh Airport and nine million passengers have used the gateway.
