New York will this year offer an "unforgettable" festive experience to its winter visitors, the city's marketing agency has claimed.
According to NYC & Company, the
US city is one of the world's most exciting places during the winter holidays, boasting picturesque winter vistas, spectacular Christmas trees and glittering department store windows.
Tourists in
New York will see Christmas time officially kick off on November 27th when Santa Claus arrives in the city as part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.
The festive fervour will then be stepped up a notch on December 3rd when the famous tree in Rockefeller Center is illuminated for the 76th time.
George Fertitta, chief executive of NYC & Company, said: "The holidays in New York City offer a one-of-a-kind travel experience.
"We invite visitors to take advantage of all of the wonderful activities taking place throughout the five boroughs and to embrace the energy that fills the city during this joyful season."
People on
Christmas shopping holidays will have no trouble finding what they need in New York, with the likes of Bloomingdale's, Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's selling all manner of festive gifts and goodies.
