People looking for a memorable way to celebrate New Year's Eve will be interested to hear that tickets for the
Edinburgh Hogmanay street party have gone on sale today (October 3rd).
Tickets for the 2008-09 event are priced at £10 but people who make their reservations quickly may receive a special price of £5.
The
Edinburgh Hogmanay party, which this year will kick off at 9pm and run until 1am, was once listed as one of the top 100 things to do before you die.
It will take place along the length of Princes Street and Gardens and is set to see around 100,000 partygoers enjoying candle-lit concerts, dances and plenty of other events.
Pete Irvine, the event's creative director, said: "With top name acts and fireworks to make sure we bring in 2009 with a bang, Edinburgh's Hogmanay offers something for everyone as musicians and DJs, across a number of stages, bring the streets of Edinburgh alive with music and an electric atmosphere."
Steve Cardownie of Edinburgh City Council added: "£10 for a night of music, fireworks and electric atmosphere is a fantastic deal by anyone's standards, so the promotional offer of £5 per pass is definitely one not to be missed."
Tickets are available from the
official Edinburgh Hogmanay website.
