More flights to Riyadh with bmi
Bmi has unveiled plans to double its number of flights to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia from January 15th 2009.
The airline's range of services from Heathrow to Riyadh will be increased from three to six per week, providing a flight every day except Friday.
After touching down in Riyadh, the flights will continue on to Dammam on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and to Jeddah on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Bmi's forthcoming increase in frequencies is made possible by an agreement between the UK and Saudi Arabian governments permitting extra air services between the two countries.
Nigel Turner, the airline's chief executive officer, said: "We are determined to take full advantage of the headroom that the revised air services agreement has created so as to meet the growing demand we are experiencing.
"The doubling of frequencies to Riyadh will enable us to offer an extremely attractive schedule that will appeal to point to point traffic as well as creating a much wider range of connecting opportunities at Heathrow, particularly to and from the USA."
Bmi's new schedule of flights to Riyadh will be operated by Airbus A330 aircraft providing lie-flat beds for business class passengers.
The airline first launched flights to the Saudi Arabian capital in September 2005, followed by a service to Jeddah in May 2006 and a connection to Dammam in March 2008.
