People planning a visit to
Australia over the coming months have been urged to pay a visit to the state of Victoria to experience the range of attractions and events that it has to offer.
In its What's New -
Melbourne and Beyond Guide, Tourism Victoria provides information on events including the new musical based on the life of Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne, which will open at Melbourne's Athenaeum Theatre on December 10th.
Travellers can also pay a visit to Australia's oldest bathhouse – the Hepburne Bathhouse and Spa in Daylesford, which recently reopened after a two-year redevelopment.
The AU$10 million (£4.1 million) refurbishment included new rooms for relaxation, therapy, massage and bathing, state-of-the-art amenities and the construction of a building housing three public pools.
People with an interest in space and astronomy should be sure to pay a visit to St Kilda Marina in
Melbourne to see the recently unveiled billion-to-one scale model of the solar system, which stretches 3.7 miles to Sandridge Beach.
The construction cost AU$111,000 to build and includes a 55-stone silicon bronze model of the sun which alone cost AU£30,000.
Sports fans should head to Melbourne between January 19th and February 1st next year when it hosts the Australian Open tennis tournament.
