British Airways has completed its transfer of services to
Terminal 5 at
Heathrow Airport.
A dozen services to international destinations were moved from Terminal 4 this week, including the airline's flights to
Boston,
Denver,
Seattle,
Calgary,
Montreal and
Dubai.
British Airways flights to
Chennai,
Calcutta,
Delhi,
Dhaka and
Shanghai also now operate from Terminal 5, while services to
Islamabad, which are currently suspended after a bomb blast, will be based at the new facility when they resume.
According to the Times, an airline spokesman said that the move had "gone well".
The transfer of British Airways'
long-haul flights to Terminal 5 was carried out in a phased operation to avoid the problems that occurred when the new facility first opened in March.
While the majority of the carrier's services are now based at Terminal 5, some, including flights to
Sydney,
Barcelona and
Bangkok, will continue to operate from their current locations before moving to Terminal 3 next year.
