British Airways(BA) has announced a new daily service between
New York and
London, it has been reported.
The route will go from Terminal 7 at
New York JFK International Airport to
Gatwick Airport.
With the addition of the new service it means the carrier now operates 62 weekly flights from the New York transport hub to England's capital.
Responsible for the long-haul journeys are Boeing 777 aircraft, with tickets split into four classes, ranging from 14 First Class seats to 124 World Traveller places.
Simon Smith, executive vice president of Americas at BA, said: "The new JFK-Gatwick flight will give our customers even more choice when flying between New York and London."
He went on to say next year the company aims to launch business-only flights between JFK and London's City Airport.
In other news, New Media Age reports BA is set to get a leisure travel campaign underway to encourage consumers to explore different cultures when they go away.
This follows research from Mintel which suggested people do not want to sacrifice their holidays during the current economic downturn.
