New Dubai mall to open this week

The Dubai Mall will open tomorrow (November 4th) and will remain open from 10am to midnight daily from this week onwards.

According to the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing department, the new mall is one of the world's largest lifestyle, entertainment and shopping destinations.

Attractions at the new complex include 600 retail outlets, an Olympic-sized ice rink, an indoor gold souk and the Dubai Aquarium, which boasts the world's largest acrylic panel.

The mall's general manager, Yousif Al Ali, said: "The Dubai Mall is a one-of-its-kind experience in the region and marks the future of retail in the region by reinventing the shopping experience for the whole family.

"Dubai has already established its place in the world as one of the best business and tourism destinations and the Dubai Mall, as an ambassador for Dubai, will highlight to the world the capabilities and strengths of this city."

The mall is a central part of the United Arab Emirates' Downtown Burj Dubai development, which will boast as its centrepiece the Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building.
