Visitors offered Christmas bonuses in Brussels

People planning Christmas shopping trips in the city of Brussels will be able to take advantage of a number of special offers and discounts this year.

The Belgian Tourist Office announced that the Brussels Card will be "going festive" by providing discounts at the Winter Wonders Christmas market, which will run from November 28th to December 28th.

Visitors will be able to get 25 per cent off the price of any Winter Wonders-branded souvenirs as well as a 50 per cent discount on adult admission tickets to the market's skating rink.

Holders of the Brussels Card will also be offered a free hot drink when they buy a beverage in the Winter Wonders organic brasserie and be able to pay child prices for adults on the big wheel.

These bonuses are being offered in addition to the card's usual benefits, which include admission to 26 museums around the city and unrestricted use of public transport.

Winter Wonders is one of the largest Christmas markets in Belgium, with some 240 chalets and a 100-metre-long ice rink.

Prices for the Brussels Card start at €18 (£15) for 24 hours of use.
