The French Government Tourist Office has unveiled a new advertising campaign promoting the attributes of the
Paris Ile-de-
France region.
Launched in
London and 12 other cities across
Europe, the initiative focuses on a number of aspects of the region, including its easy accessibility from the
UK.
The French Government Tourist Office describes
Paris Ile-de-France as an "avant-garde territory" that boasts striking architecture, regular exhibitions and a unique energy.
A number of artists are involved in the advertising campaign, including Patrick Blanc, who is known for working with natural materials and whose plant wall creation is currently on show at the Quai Branly museum in Paris.
The French capital is a popular destination at this time of year as it offers plenty of gift-buying opportunities for people taking
Christmas shopping trips.
There are a number of markets to be found around the city, in areas including La Defense, Place Saint-Sulpice and Montparnasse.
