City breaks in
Dublin will prove a popular option in March as the Irish capital hosts its traditional St Patrick's Day celebrations.
A five-day festival to pay tribute to the patron saint of
Ireland will get underway on March 12th and culminate in
Dublin's famous St Patrick's Day parade on March 17th.
Thousands of Irish people and foreigners alike are expected to paint the town green during the celebrations.
A theme of 'the sky's the limit' will characterise this year's festival, with events including street theatre, Irish music concerts, family fun, comedy shows and dance performances.
Skyfest will be one of the most popular events, combining fireworks, pyrotechnics and music, while the Big Day Out will turn Merrion Square into a giant playground for children and adults alike.
The main parade will be held on March 17th and will feature marching bands, street theatre companies, giant puppets and much more.
Full details on the festival can be found on its
official website.
