Etihad unveils F1-branded plane
Etihad Airways has unveiled a Formula One-branded aircraft that is being launched to celebrate this year's inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Airbus A340 has a white nose, which merges into red at the end of the plane, along with the F1 logo on the engines and a chequered flag design on the tail fin.
British passengers will be among those to see the impressive plane as it will operate Etihad's route from Abu Dhabi to Heathrow Airport.
The aircraft will also be used on flights to Toronto, Sydney and New York.
Etihad vice-president of product and marketing Peter Baumgartner said: "The inaugural 2009 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is only ten months away and we are delighted to fly our own F1-themed aircraft across the world to build awareness and generate excitement to what will be a thrilling event for Abu Dhabi and the UAE."
The airline has also launched an Airbus A320 painted in the livery of an F1 racing car to celebrate its sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will come to the United Arab Emirates on November 1st.
